Welp, hello, Enthusiasm. I see you’re back.
Stay a while, I’m so much happier with you here.
Today I learned something new, I laughed until I cried, made a new friend, and was inspired. Embroider me on a motivational pillow or paint me on the side of your metal water bottle used exclusively for traveling to and from yoga class.
In all seriousness, the people around me are amazing me. I wholly delight in the encouraging emails I’ve been receiving, and I’m so thankful for you all. Seeing and hearing how my friends are bright and active has helped me want that again. I’m keen to celebrate my health and be fit again. I’m committing to 50% of my daily commute time being by means of biking or walking, and I’m going swimming three times a week (2x down!) to get back in condition before my next tri. My Internet time is being cut to 2 hours a day, because I actually want to git ‘er done this time around.
Also, my foreseeable future is twisting away from my strict outline of how things should go, but I guess it’s leaving enough room to snake back to the original objective if I make it happen. Examples:
- I’m staying in Vancouver for the summer and not advancing my research (AHH!), but I’ll be learning the ropes of a different industry and taking more sweet classes (YAYY!).
- I’m postponing my last semester of college (WAT.) to go on a 6-month hiking trip with my younger brother (YAYY!), or I may finish a semester earlier than planned (YAYYER!).
I’m not even panicking anymore. And before someone points it out, yeah, I realize I just reformatted my strict outline of how things should go, but I’m showing at least a little flexibility, right?
