Day 04

I no longer know how I feel about religion or God anymore, but it doesn’t eat at me, either.  It’s always been important to me to mirror the character of honorable representatives of various faiths, and right now that is what I am reaping most from (and hopefully contributing to) my religious affiliation.

I still enjoy attending Christian gatherings for the fellowship of it all.  I like hugs, and churchgoers sure are great huggers.  I find joy and solace in prayer, and if it turns out there is nothing to which to pray, I won’t consider my time wasted.  Churches have a lot to offer a community in terms of resources and manpower, and (a lot of the time) are good places to raise children so long as they aren’t pressured to make any emotion-induced decisions they are taught are life-altering.  People can have great morals without religion, but I feel like the Bible, as well as other religious/sacred texts which were available to me, provided many good teachings and stories (note:  I did not say that everything in the Bible is lovely).

When it comes to tithing, I think it is important to give charitably and joyfully regardless of religious affiliation, but since I was in middle school I’ve been very careful about where I put my money.  I have a lot of concern regarding where Christian churches allocate their money and how they expect members to give.  When I support all ministries of a church, I’ll give; otherwise, I’ll give that money to an organization with a different ideology.

And I promise I didn’t intentionally make the text three different sizes.  I don’t know how that happened, and I’m apparently incapable of fixing it.
